The Way Station is a relatively new outreach ministry in Spencer and you are welcome to be a part of it. Designed to be a stopping place, a station along the way with the intent of providing a place of relaxation, renewal, recharging, and restoration through the love of Christ. Along with coffee and snacks, The Way Station also provides a used book store and reading room called Friar Tuck’s Book Nook, where people can read, study and purchase or borrow books. There is an art studio, where visitors can create custom arts and crafts. The Way Station also offers a space where healing prayers can be offered to individuals and groups. This a place for people to come meet Jesus, experience His love and bask in the transforming, restorative power of His Spirit. Through June 1, Bethany is collecting supplies to help support their ministry. Some of the items needed include: individually wrapped snacks or chips, cans of soda and bottled water. A collection basket is located in the foyer of the parking entry. Monetary donations are being accepted as well – earmark your gift for “The Way Station” and leave at the church office. Other ways to help include volunteering, participating in or teaching art classes, teaching heritage skills (sewing, weaving, canning, chair caning, etc.).
