Children and Worship
- 3 years of age through Kindergarten - Classrooms are located on the
lower level.
This program is an exciting way for young children to experience God while
learning about God. It involves children worshiping in a special
place apart from the worshiping congregation so they become able to
worship meaningfully with the congregation. Teachers have a special
style of storytelling as a primary means for encountering God, so God is
experienced, not just learned about. The children are then able to
respond to the stories by continuing to work with the story figures and
art materials.
Elementary Education
- Grades 1 through 6 - Classrooms are located upstairs.
Children are introduced to the Old and New Testament stories and teachings
of God and Jesus on a three-week basis. Through art, a game, a skit,
or even food preparation, the teacher shares with the children the truths
found in the Bible; much the same way Jesus shared the truth with his
disciples and followers. Starting with Kindergarten, the memory work
the child have builds upon the previous year, climaxing with
Catechization.
Middle School -
Grades 7 and 8 - Classroom is located on the lower level, opposite the
youth room.
Students in grades 7 and 8 are in Confirmation classes on Wednesday night.
Their time in the Sunday School setting is a continuation of what they are
doing on Wednesday nights. Through Catechization (the recitation of
memory work before relatives and friends) and Confirmation, these students
reaffirm and take on the faith promises made by their parents at Baptism.
High School -
Grades 9 through 12 - The youth room is located on the lower level.
Students meets in the high school youth room with the Youth Team Directors
during the week and during the Sunday School hour. For more
information, please check out the "High School Youth" section!
Adult Education -
post-high school graduate through 100 years of age
The women's group meets in the Search/Library room in the lower level.
Topics run for several weeks and new-comers are always welcome.
Classes with the pastors usually meet in the parlor. Both classes
look at the topic from a Biblical standpoint and how we can serve God and
His plan for our lives.
