Bethany's Mission:
Invite people to experience the grace
of God through Jesus Christ and be transformed.
Bethany's Core Values:
| 1. |
Everyone is welcome to
experience God's grace. Jesus gladly and joyfully welcomed
all people (Luke 15:1-32) and Jesus calls us to do the same. We
seek to reach out to the world around us, to search for the lost, and
to welcome all. For it is by grace that each of us is saved.
(Ephesians 2:8-10). |
| 2. |
Jesus is our Lord and Savior.
Jesus Christ alone saves (Galatians 2:19-20). Jesus is the way,
the truth and the life (John 4:16). Jesus is Lord of our lives
and we are not. We know Jesus through his suffering and death on
the cross. In our imperfectness (sin), we strive to respond
faithfully to the call of Jesus to follow him as disciples (Matthew
28:19-20) in a world that competes for our energy, time and attention. |
| 3. |
Generations growing in faith.
Jesus brought change into lives of the people that he met. Their
lives would be different (Galatians 2:19-20). Jesus loved people
as they were but God's love changes you. All generations and
ages are included and faith is nurtured the best in families and small
groups (Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Acts 2:42-47). |
| 4. |
Blessed to serve. As
we are blessed with God's grace, we share that grace through our
loving service and resources (Matthew 5:15). As God first loved
us, we love one another (Matthew 22:36-40, 1 John 4:7-8). We are
the body of Christ, the priesthood of all believers and everyone has
something to offer. |
